Speech Pathologist

Amelia is an experienced Speech Pathologist offering services to both children and adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. Amelia is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia and graduated from University of Sydney. She has worked in a range of areas including hospitals, ENT clinics, community health and private practices in both Australia and overseas. Her mission is to help people find their voice, enrich their conversations and improve their well-being. Amelia will work with you to help achieve your goals and ensure your therapy is specifically tailored to your needs.

Amelia can help your child with:
– Speech difficulties: problems with making sounds and words where listeners can’t understand what they are saying.
– Delayed speech and language: not meeting communication milestones.
– Stuttering: interrupted flow of speech by unusual stops, partial-word repetitions (b-b-boy) or prolonged sounds (sssssnake).
– Voice difficulties: strained, hoarse voice or loss of voice, may also cause pain or discomfort.
– Language difficulties: problems with understanding what other people say or trouble using words and sentences to express ideas.
– Reading and writing difficulties.
– Difficulties in the classroom listening and completing tasks.
– Difficulty with social skills including making friends and withdrawing from social situations.

Amelia can help adults with:
– Slurred or imprecise speech.
– Strained, tired or loss of voice.
– Chewing and swallowing difficulties. Coughing or choking with food and drinks.
– Word finding difficulties, difficulties forming thoughts into sentences. Difficulty understanding, following instructions and questions.
– Reading and writing difficulties.
– Stuttering.
– Difficulty with social skills including having conversations with others.

Amelia is also a passionate and experienced Yoga teacher and has completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher training. She can offer a range of breathing and mindfulness exercises to compliment and enrich your treatment and general well-being.
